Kimberly McKinnon Crandall is a native Utahn who began her career as a Deputy District Attorney at the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office in 2001 immediately following graduation from the University of Utah College of Law. She has been married for 21 years and has 3 children.
In her 24 year career at the District Attorney’s Office Kim prosecuted every type of case from misdemeanors to homicides. With only brief interruptions, she specialized in special victim cases over half of her career as she started doing those cases in 2008. The background of prosecution in special victim cases shows how she understands how the State will build a case and how the truth and actual justice can be elusive. She is an experienced trial attorney who has litigated serious multi-day jury trials on felony sex offense and child abuse cases, as well as taken to trial multiple homicide cases including child abuse homicides.
The background at the District Attorney’s Office also shows she understands the issues that victim’s face and is in a great position to be a representative of victims of crime.
